Family History

I stumbled on our Guadiz family website (my mom's side of the family) recently and thought it was nice to see our family tree.  There are a lot of mis-spelling of names and some babies that haven't been added.  Our family keeps growing.

The girls can look up their great-great grandfather's name and read the history of where the Guadiz family is from.  I wish there was one for each side of the family.  I should take this as a project but it'll have to wait until I graduate.

In 2010, I put a list of our imediate Guadiz family members together and had my sister make a family tree for my great-grandmothers birthday.  With her artistic talent, this is what she came up with and it's beautiful.  We've had a few more branches added to this tree since then.  The print is very tiny but I'll point out where Kianna and Madison is on the tree.  They are at the very top left corner in light blue.

A few years ago, I started on Kianna and Madison's own family tree but it's still in a work in progress.  Once it's complete, I'll post it.

Soccer Season

The season has begun.  Two evening practices for Kianna and one for Madison every week.  Thank goodness they are all at different times.  Kianna likes playing soccer because she has her friend, Ashley, that she's been playing with for the past 3 years.  It's nice to see them play together.  Hopefully Madison will learn to like sports.  I gave Kianna a choice to either choose sports or dancing.  She of course chose sports.  I also gave Madison the choice and she chose dance/ballet, of course.

Kianna's game schedule:
  • Sat, Sept 15 @ 10:15am
  • Sat, Sept 29 @ 4:30pm
  • Sat, Oct 6 @ 11:30am
  • Mon, Oct 15 @ 5:30pm
  • Sat, Oct 20 @ 2:00pm
  • Sat, Oct 27 @ 10:15am
  • Sat, Nov 3 @ 12:45pm
Madison's game schedule:

  • Sat, Sept 22 @ 11:20am
  • Sat, Sept 29 @ 10:20am
  • Mon, Oct 8 @ 5:50pm
  • Sat, Oct 13 @ 10:20am
  • Tue, Oct 16 @ 5:50pm
  • Sat, Oct 20 @ 3:20pm
  • Sat, Oct 27 @1:20pm
  • Sat, Nov 3 @ 3:20pm

Feel free to come and watch them play. All games are played at Wilson Playfield in Kent

Third grade

Today is Kianna's first day of third grade. She woke up early as I did and we both got ready. Not too soon after, Madison woke up. These girls are definitely on east coast time. Anyway, Kianna was eager to go to school because she's attending a new school with new friends to make. Luckily she's the kind of person that gets along with everyone.
When I got to work, I texted Tito to take pictures of her on her first day but this is the one and only picture that he could get out of her. He said that she was too cool for pictures.

I'll have to pick up a cupcake/cake to celebrate a new school year. I got this tradition from my aunt who always started and ended a school year with a celebration cake for my cousin, Gio.

Here's the big 3rd grader after school.  She looks happy and the first day of school was a success!

Last day of summer vacation

Summer is coming to an end and so is our 2012 summer vacation. The girls wanted to soak up the sun in the resort pool for the last time while Tito packs the rest of the luggage.

Today is actually Kianna's first day of school. She'll be going to her new school tomorrow and I have to head back to work as well but on a good note, we have a three holiday weekend. We plan to relax and recover from our vacation. Although this trip was tiring, it was sooo much fun!! I'd do it all over again. My planning was successful and now I'm excited to plan the next trip, a family road trip to Cali with the girls cousins, JD and Alexa, next summer.

Polynesian Reosrt/Last day at Disney World

We've enjoyed our vacation and it's coming to an end. What better place to eat at our last character breakfast than 'Ohana' restaurant at the Polynesian Resort. I hope the girls remember all the events that happened, the good ones not the meltdowns.

It's our last day here at Disney World to visit the theme parks and we're heading for a second day to Magic Kingdom. Hope these memories will last forever with the kiddos.

After all the rides and shows, we are ending the night with fireworks at Cinderella's castle. Goodbye Disney World! We've had a wonderful time here and we hope to come back when the kids are older and capture more memories. (I know so cheesy but, I like that stuff.)
